DESCRIPTION:This Standard Proficiency Laser course is designed to provide training to Dental Hygienists in the state of Wisconsin and is recognized by the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD). \nThis 12-hour\, in-depth course\, is scheduled as follows: \nFriday: 8-hour detailed lecture that will cover the physics of lasers\, tissue interactions\, specific settings for procedures\, and the variety of lasers that are available. You will also gain information on managing insurance benefits\, communication skills\, and how to implement lasers into your hygiene program. \nSaturday: A 4-hour\, hands-on clinical practice with lasers in our Dental Clinic. Clinical proficiency and practice will be demonstrated using pig mandibles as well as access to a Mock Exam to prepare you for the online Academy of Laser Dentistry exam (for an additional charge). \nThis course will prepare dental hygienists to register for the Standard Proficiency Online Exam to certify through the Academy of Laser Dentistry (an additional fee and time frame does apply to this exam and is not included in the cost of this course). \nCoffee & Lunch Provided on Friday
